Job Summary:

As Director of Maintenance at Jet Access, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Part 145 Repair Station. Leading with safety as our top priority, youll oversee team leadership, shop schedule management, workflow optimization, work order oversight, client communication, and quality control for a single shop location. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Maintenance, youll implement strategic objectives, operating plans, and policies that ensure both aircraft integrity and fiscal responsibility while maintaining a culture of excellence that aligns with our core values.

 

Core Schedule:

  •      Days: Monday through Friday (In-Shop)
  •      Evening/weekend hours will be required for various incidents, events, initiatives

 

Compensation:

  •      Base Salary of $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 (annualized), paid bi-weekly
  •      Bonus earning potential Variable Compensation Plan 15 of Annual Base Salary: $18,000 - $25,750* (Subject to plan terms and conditions)
  •      Total Cash Compensation Package: $138,000 – $190,750

  •      This position is classified as FLSA Exempt

 

Day in the Life: 

As the Director of Maintenance at Jet Access, youll lead our Part 145 Repair Station operations at a single shop location with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Heres what your role encompasses:

 

Team Leadership and Development

  •      Lead the maintenance Team Members with a focus on safety, accountability, and excellence while conducting regular performance evaluations and development planning
  •      Oversee hiring processes and collaborate with senior management on long-term maintenance strategies
  •      Develop and manage daily shop schedules, designate project leadership roles, and allocate Team Member resources strategically to meet deadlines
  •      Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the maintenance team
  •      Ensure effective communication and coordination across all shifts and work groups

 

Shop Operations and Workflow Management

  •      Pre-plan upcoming projects with detailed quotes, work orders, and parts requirements
  •      Monitor work orders for budget adherence, labor efficiency, and quality workflow processes
  •      Support Crew Chiefs with parts acquisition, staffing needs, and technical documentation
  •      Facilitate shift turnovers and proactively address additional inspection findings
  •      Optimize shop layout, processes, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize aircraft downtime

 

Quality Control and Compliance

  •      Ensure maintenance documentation meets regulatory standards and Client approval processes
  •      Maintain safety standards and a clean work environment throughout the Repair Station
  •      Oversee compliance with FAA regulations and company quality management systems
  •      Conduct regular quality audits and implement corrective actions as needed
  •      Facilitate industry audits with transparent access to company records

 

Client Issue Resolution and Support

  •      Step in to resolve escalated client concerns or technical issues when projects encounter challenges
  •      Collaborate with Sales and Project Managers to address unexpected maintenance findings or scope changes
  •      Ensure seamless communication between shop floor and client-facing teams
  •      Review and approve complex quotes and work orders for accuracy before client presentation
  •      Support business growth through relationship management during critical project phases

 

Strategic Planning and Business Development

  •      Work with Sales to coordinate scheduling and establish realistic delivery dates based on shop capacity
  •      Compare invoices against quotes, verify billing accuracy, and support revenue optimization
  •      Represent Jet Access at industry forums, seminars, and conventions
  •      Project our commitment to safety and best practices to industry peers
  •      Complete special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Accesss continued growth and success

What will make you successful:

Required Skills & Experience

  •      FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required
  •      Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  •      Minimum 5 years of management experience in aircraft maintenance operations
  •      Previous experience as Director of Maintenance or similar leadership role in a Part 145 Repair Station strongly preferred
  •      Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations (Parts 43, 65, 91, 135, 145) with specific emphasis on Part 145 Repair Station requirements and maintenance procedures
  •      Demonstrated experience with maintenance scheduling, work order management, and team leadership
  •      Thorough understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance requirements for business aircraft
  •      Experience with maintenance tracking systems and electronic record-keeping
  •      Strong background in maintenance planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
  •      Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards and regulatory compliance
  •      Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with Clients, Team Members, and regulatory authorities
  •      Must pass required background checks and pre-employment screening
  •      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and aviation maintenance management software

  •      Experience managing a single shop location with efficient resource allocation and workflow optimization
  •      Experience with business jet maintenance, particularly with popular aircraft types in our fleet
  •      Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  •      Excellent project management skills with ability to oversee multiple maintenance projects simultaneously
  •      Familiarity with maintenance optimization practices to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
  •      Problem-solving mindset with ability to quickly address issues that arise during maintenance processes
  •      Experience with ARG/US, Wyvern, IS-BAO, or similar aviation safety audit standards
  •      Background in developing and implementing scalable maintenance processes
  •      Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
  •      Proven ability to maintain positive relationships with vendors, Clients, and regulatory authorities
  •      Adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining unwavering safety standards
