The Bushing & Hone Technician is responsible for installing, machining, and finishing bushings and precision components to exact tolerances using honing equipment and related machining tools. This role ensures high-quality workmanship, adherence to engineering specifications, and compliance with safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, fit, and machine bushings to specific tolerances.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC honing machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Measure parts using precision instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, calipers).
• Verify dimensions and ensure finished components meet quality standards.
• Perform machine setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot machining or tolerance issues.
• Document completed work and inspection results accurately.
• Collaborate with machinist, supervisors, and quality teams to meet production goals.

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
• 5+ years of machining or bushing/honing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CNC honing equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, automotive, or heavy equipment components.
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
• Manual dexterity for precision handwork.
• Aerospace or FAA manufacturing experience.
